Our Company

Augusta Disposal & Recycling, Inc. is a family owned company, founded by John and Bill Polonus. The company has offered free curbside recycling to our customers since opening in 1991 making us the largest small business, locally owned residential refuse collector in Columbia County and very proactive in the community.

We have been recognized by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce in 1999, receiving the award for Best Small Business Person of the Year. ADR is also accredited by the Better Business Bureau since 2006 with an A+ rating.

Voted by Columbia County Magazine’s 100 Best Issue, Most Eco-Friendly Business in 2009.

Voted by Columbia County Magazine’s 100 Best Issue, Best Trash Service in 2015.

We are very involved with many schools and participate in various activities throughout Columbia County. Our 96 gallon carts can be seen at non-profit charity events for Ronald McDonald House’s Charities of Augusta, Inc. Plane Pull and local music events like The Day in the Country and numerous other events.

A big part of our mission is to try to teach people to be conscious of the environment.
